Lately I've been pretty good about exercising, except two days ago I went hiking and cut the bottom of my foot on some rocks. Clumsy me. I ran a majority of the hiking trail that day, it felt so good. Now I'm walking around with a limp, I'm probably just being a wuss and should step on it but it feel really funny. I'm going to wake up tomorrow and just run on in, since I have a full day of work anyway and I might as well make sure I can stay on it without limping all day.
Diet wise I've been bad. I've had a very low appetite and have been skipping breakfast and lunch, I finally become hungry around dinner time and eat something. I think its just life stress that's making me nauseous most of the day. I think I should try some yoga or meditation in the morning and then try eating breakfast.
MCATs in 2 months. WOW. I need to start a much healthier life pattern of waking up really early, exercising and studying. I also need to start packing the stuff from the apartment to move back home. I feel like there is so much to do and always so little time. I need to make myself a list and start checking things off.

Step in the right direction
So no I did not wake up at the crack of dawn to go running during my last post. I got out of work at midnight and had to be up by 530am to get ready for work the next day, it just didn't work out.
But for some good news: last night I got out of work and spent 30 minutes on the stationary bike. Which I thought was pretty good for it being midnight. And then I woke up this morning and decided to go for a run around washington park.
Yesterday I cheated by eating a whole bag of popcorn...boo. So the rest of the day consisted of a bowl of cereal and a tuna sandwhich. They had icecream cake at work but I held strong until I got home. *phew*
Today I'm cheating because amy left me half a cheesecake piece at home. So I ate a homemade turkey and swiss panini on wheat break and dinner is a salad with lots of veggies, chicken and an egg.
Hopefully I'm gonna do some weights when I go home tonight from work.

Finals Week and Such
So I attempted to make such bold promises in the midst of finals week. Well I learned my lesson when I failed just as quickly. Yes, there was a lot of junk food eating and very little working out. Sad to say that my calories burned according to the GoWearFit would only be closer to 2500calories. The program says I should be burning up to 3600calories. I have no idea how to do that, it feels so impossible at the moment but tomorrow I'm going to try my best to get as close as I can to that goal number. The closest I've gotten so far has been almost 3000calories.
Tomorrow I'm planning on waking up at 5am, yes I did really say that, and going for a jog around the neighborhood. I work at 7am so hopefully I'll stay pretty active all day. At about 430pm when I get home I plan to take a nap!! Well, because I would deserve it at this point. Then I have Kaplan MCAT prep course at 6pm. Maybe Mike and I can go for a walk around Washington Park after class. Or walmart shopping, which involves way more activity sometimes ;)
Meals:
Breakfast- Honeynut cheerios and fat free milk
Morning Snack- Slimfast Shake
Lunch- Leftover Pasta from Lambardos. It's not much so it should satisfy my craving without an influx of mega calories. Yoplait light yogurt. Steamed Veggies to keep me full.
The meals for the rest of the day are up in the air, I'll have to first investigate whats in my fridge.
Well, even if I stray from this plan, I hope its not binge eating or something ridiculous like that. I'll let you know if I stayed good.

Sleep Efficiency
So for the past few weeks I've been noticing some strange sleep habits. I used to go to sleep and stay asleep till my alarm rang in the morning, but lately I'd awake to bad nightmares or awake just randomly in the middle of the night. The GoWear Fit (GWF) allowed me to actually figure out what i'm doing at night. I'm not sure if you can see in the picture but it says that I was laying down attempting to sleep for 7 hours but only actually slept for 5 hours and 51 minutes. Therefore 83% sleep efficiency. Further breakdown shows that I woke up about every hour! Wow, no wonder I don't feel rested when I wake up. Mission for tomorrow, see if the nasal strips I bought improve my efficiency.

First Day of a New Life
This past year, I've used many different fad diets or "guaranteed" plans but none of them have worked for me. From Albany Boot Camp for Women, Weight Watchers, Calorie counting, Slimfast plan, trying the vegetarian diet and strict gym schedules...I just had a hard time maintaining weight loss and staying motivated with the stress of school, work and life.
This week I bought the GoWear Fit and it just arrived in the mail. Today will be my first full day. And with my first full day, I would like to begin it off right. There are a lot of changes I've been making for a healthier lifestyle. Including paying attention to my eating behavior, increases my activity level, working on a good sleep schedule, a better study schedule and paying attention to my mental and physical health. All of these are essential to my weight loss and health gain. Hopefully this journal will help me keep notes of my progress and keep me motivated even through the tough times.
So hello new Insiya! And goodbye bad habits!
